Big, fat congrats!

Congratulations to our 3-year old stallion "Glenn's Oh So What" (out of "Another Dimension Oh So Remarkable" and Glenn's Jezebel") on his first show: 4 Firsts, 2 Reserves & 2 Grands!!! We are so very proud!!!

Last year we had a wonderful 15 fillies and 4 colts. This year the first 6 babies were colts. The next 4 have been fillies, but we were a little concerned there for a while.

We still have about 15 of those from last year and 4 beautiful little stallions from 2008. Come and see these pretty kids for yourself.

We love nothing more than spending an hour or 2 showing our babies and visiting with people who love miniature horses.

"Just getting to know you, Max..."

Moo!

My granddaughter, Kelly, and I ventured out today in the pasture to snap some photos of our 3 miniature cows: the heifer (with her upward-pointing horns, the baby bull (with his outward-pointing horns) & the 2-year old bull (with his downward-pointing horns).

The heifer and "baby" were very interested and intrigued, quite gentle creatures (well, not too amused by a hyper Doberman) and I really think they showed great potential for becoming better pets. People just don't give cows enough credit...

Enjoy the photos, and remember the details above to identify which is which!

Oh Baby.

Foaling season is upon us, expecting our first baby any day now. Babies due from several of our stallions -- Prince, Starbuck, Talk of the Town, "Oh So" Remarkable (of the Rowdy bloodline). Palominos, pintos, bays, sorrels -- we're expecting all kinds of colors!

And the arrival of the sweet babies always melts your heart, even if it is hard and fretful work! But it's so worth every bit of it...

Glenn's
This little girl who just turned a year old on the 15th of January (Glenn's Belle of the Ball, a granddaughter of NFC Husseler's Star) just left for Texas along with her older brother this past weekend to get cleaned up and slicked off to see if they have any show potential... Wish them luck!

"Small" World... (especially in the miniature horse business!)

We received an email today from Fitzpatrick Farms regarding one of our broodmares, Kentucky Sunshine (see right). Apparently they own Kentucky's sire, who is now a gelding but had sired three foals before and they are looking for them. It's always fun to connect with others in your "horse family", isn't it?

Btw, please be sure to give Miss Kentucky a break right here as she had JUST had a baby girl when this photo was taken -- you can even see a wet little leg off to the right side... She's a pretty, pretty lady! We've had 3 foals out of her (she's an absolute dream in the birthing process -- so easy), have sold 1 and still have the other 2...

On the left is a picture sent to us of McSperitt Cutter's Inspiration (aka "Mini-Me"), Kentucky's daddy, by Ashton Fitzpatrick of Fitzpatrick Farms. I definitely see the resemblance in those beautiful big doe eyes!

Brrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

It's been unusually cold here in the Mississippi, and I can assure you that we Southerners aren't used to it! Finally getting a chance to wear all those heavy winter clothes we so rarely have a need for...

Only a few issues with the horses -- frozen water troughs, some curious kids testing out the ice on the frozen pond -- but nothing major (fingers crossed). They may look unrecognizable compared to summertime, but I bet those fuzzy winter coats are finally being put to good use!

Please make sure your animals have a warm source of shelter during extreme cold weather!!! And pass the word along to friends & neighbors...

Minus Three...

SOLD THREE HORSES TODAY!!!
Very excited for both the buyers AND the horses for finding each other!
Of course it's always a bittersweet blessing to see them go...
